Hip Maker Will Face Claims For Tool Used To Extract Broken Hip Component

MACON, Ga. - A Georgia federal judge on Oct. 11 denied summary judgment on a plaintiff's claim that a hip prosthesis and a device the manufacturer made to remove broken components were defectively designed and that the extraction device was defectively manufactured (Timothy R. Courson, et al. v. Wright Medical Technology, Inc., No. 5:12-173, M.D. Ga., Macon Div.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 147218).
