Social Security Commissioner Agrees To Readjudicate Allegedly Biased Hearings

NEW YORK - A New York federal judge on Oct. 18 granted final approval of a settlement agreement in which the Social Security commissioner agreed to readjudicate claims that a class of applicants allege were denied based on bias (Lorraine Padro, et al. v. Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security, No. 11-1788, E.D. N.Y.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 150494).
