GRETNA, La. - The Fifth Circuit Louisiana Court of Appeal on Oct. 30 affirmed summary judgment for the defendants in a medical malpractice case, concluding that the defendants "properly pointed out an absence of support for plaintiff's medical malpractice claim, i.e., that plaintiff did not put forth any expert medical testimony to prove that defendants breached the standard of care in performing plaintiff's surgery" (Andy Valence v. Jefferson Parish Hospital, et al., No. 13-CA-48, La. App., 5th Cir.; 2013 La. App. LEXIS 2187).
