Judge Grants Consumer Attorneys' Fees Award In Debt Collection Lawsuit

DENVER - A federal judge in Colorado on Nov. 18 granted a consumer an award of attorneys' fees in a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) lawsuit, ruling that although the amount sought by the consumer was too high with regard to the number of hours spent on the case, an award of $2,172.50 was reasonable (Marina Rodriguez v. Luchey & Mitchell Recovery Solutions LLC, No. 12-3035, D. Colo.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 164285).
