MTBE MDL Judge Finds Puerto Rico's Claims Against 2 Defendants Untimely

NEW YORK - The federal judge presiding over the multidistrict court for claims stemming from contamination caused by the gasoline additive methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) on Dec. 30 dismissed as untimely claims brought against two companies by the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (In re: Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) Products Liability Litigation, MDL 1358, No. 00-1898, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico v. Shell Oil Co., et al., No. 07 Civ. 10470, S.D. N.Y.; 2013 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 181837).
