CareFusion Pays $40.1M To Settle False Claims/Kickback Case Involving Prep Wash

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - CareFusion Corp. has agreed to pay $40.1 million to settle civil allegations that it paid $11.6 million in kickbacks to a doctor to recommend purchase of the company's surgical prep antiseptic, according to a settlement announced Jan. 9 by the U.S. Department of Justice (United States of America, ex rel. Cynthia Kirk v. CareFusion, et al., No. 10-2492, D. Kan.).
