Mealey's Insurance - Judge Finds Agent Was Fraudulently Joined, Denies Motion To Remand

TAMPA, Fla. - An insurer properly removed a bad faith lawsuit to federal court, a Florida federal judge found March 13, determining that an insurer's agent was fraudulent joined to the suit and declining an insured's motion to remand and award attorney fees (James Noyes v. Universal Underwriters Insurance Co., No. 8:13-cv-03077, M.D. Fla.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 32733).
