Mealey's IP/Tech - Defendant's Google Ad, Web Presence Do Not Confer Jurisdiction, Judge Says

CHICAGO - Even though a defendant used a competitor's trademark in an advertisement on Google, an Illinois federal judge on March 14 found that the company had insufficient contacts with Illinois to confer jurisdiction in the state, granting dismissal of the trademark lawsuit (Telemedicine Solutions LLC v. WoundRight Technologies LLC, No. 1:13-cv-03431, N.D. Ill.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 33232).
