Mealey's PI/Product Liability - Unintended Acceleration Expert Admissible In Fatal Toyota Case, Federal Judge Says

ST. PAUL, Minn. - An automotive engineer presented sufficiently reliable testimony that a 1996 Toyota Camry had a defectively designed cruise control that caused an unintended acceleration that resulted in three deaths and several injuries for which the driver served two years in prison, a federal judge in Minnesota held March 18 (Angela Block, et al. v. Toyota Motor Corp., et al., Nos. 10-2802, 10-2803, 10-2804, 10-2805, D. Minn.; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 34750).
