Mealey's Toxic Tort/Environmental - Interview With Tobacco Juror Not Prohibited By Rules, Florida Appeals Court Says

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A Florida Rule of Civil Procedure governing contact with jurors does not prohibit a judge from investigating a juror's complaint that "something was done wrong" in an $11.2 million tobacco personal injury verdict for a plaintiff who has since died, the Fourth District Florida Court of Appeal held March 19, denying certiorari to the plaintiff's appeal (Jim Naugle, as Personal Representative of the Estate of Lucinda Naugle v. Philip Morris USA, Inc., No. 4D14-391, Fla. App., 4th Dist.).
