Mealey's Insurance - Panel Affirms Jury's Bad Faith Verdict In Coverage Suit Over Wrongful Eviction

SAN DIEGO - A California appeals panel on April 22 held that underlying allegations against an apartment complex manager and the extrinsic facts were reasonably interpreted to constitute a claim of wrongful eviction that triggered coverage under a general liability insurance policy, further finding that there was sufficient evidence to supported a jury's conclusion that the insurer acted in bad faith (San Diego Apartment Brokers Inc. v. California Capital Insurance Co., No. D062945, Calif. App., 4th Dist.).
