Mealey's Banking & Finance - 3rd Circuit Upholds Ruling Dismissing Man's Unfair Trade Practices Claims

PHILADELPHIA - A man's claims under the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law (UTPCPL) against Eagle Nationwide Mortgage Co. and Wells Fargo Mortgage Inc. were properly dismissed by a federal judge in Pennsylvania because the plaintiff did not plead his claims with the required level of specificity, a Third Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel held April 23 (Kenneth J. Taggart v. Wells Fargo Home Mortgage Inc., et al., No. 13-3268, 3rd Cir.; 2014 U.S. App. LEXIS 7600).
