DETROIT - Bank of New York Mellon (BNY), the custodian under the global custody agreements between the bankrupt City of Detroit and retiree groups and trustees of the benefit plan for the city's employees, on May 12 filed a brief in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, contending that its claims should not be included in the city's plan of adjustment (In Re: City of Detroit, No. 13-53846, Chapter 9, E.D. Mich. Bkcy.).
