Mealey's Litigation Procedure - ICSID Finds It Lacks Jurisdiction Over Treaty Claims Against Indonesia

WASHINGTON, D.C. - After finding that a British national's investments in an Indonesian company and banks did not fall within the scope of a bilateral investment treaty, a tribunal for the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Dispute (ICSID) on May 13 released a decision finding that it lacked jurisdiction over his claims against the Republic of Indonesia (Rafat Ali Rizvi v. The Republic of Indonesia, No. ARB/11/13, ICSID).
