ST. LOUIS - Over the objections of two companies accused of liability for a plume of chlorinated solvents allegedly contaminating the soil, groundwater and air of a St. Louis County, Mo., residential neighborhood, a U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri judge granted motions May 8 by the plaintiffs to dismiss without prejudice on the condition that the plaintiffs will pay defense costs if they refile the property damage claims (June Jeffries, et al. v. Missouri Metals, et al., No. 13-1921, E.D. Mo.).
