Mealey's Toxic Tort/Environmental - Judge: Site Owner's Lack Of Representation Does Not Make Settlement Unfair

DAYTON, Ohio - A federal judge in Ohio on May 8 said a settlement between the U.S. government and a number of parties that owned or conducted operations at the Lammers Barrel Superfund site was procedurally fair and reasonable even though the lead settling defendant was not represented by counsel (United States of America v. 3M Company, et al., No. 14-cv-32, S.D. Ohio; 2014 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 63934).
