Mealey's Elder Law - Retirement Board Agrees High Court Should Address Judicial Review Of Decisions

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board in a Dec. 9 response brief tells the U.S. Supreme Court that a ruling is necessary on whether the board's decision to deny reopening a man's request for benefits under the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act (RUIA) and Railroad Retirement Act (RRA) is subject to judicial review, explaining that a ruling from the nation's high court would be beneficial because the current split among the circuits is conducive to forum shopping (Manfredo M. Salinas v. U.S. Railroad Retirement Board, No. 19-199, U.S. Sup.).
