Mealey's Litigation Procedure - $14.5M Settlement Approved In Fiduciary Breach Suit Against Vanderbilt University

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Following the withdrawal of an objection to a proposed $14.5 million settlement in a plan participants' lawsuit accusing Vanderbilt University, the oversight committee and members of the committee of mismanaging the employee retirement plan, a Tennessee federal judge on Oct. 22 granted final approval of the settlement after determining that the settlement is fair, reasonable and adequate to the plan and the settlement class (Loren L. Cassell, et al. v. Vanderbilt University, et al., No. 16-2086, M.D. Tenn.).
