CHICAGO - A decision by the lead plaintiff in a housing discrimination class complaint to abandon federal claims eliminates the federal court's jurisdiction, a federal judge in Illinois ruled Dec. 16, ordering that the suit be sent back to state court (Martha Benson, et al. v. Five Star Realty Services, Inc., No. 19-6253, N.D. Ill., 2019 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 216559).
