Mealey's Litigation Procedure - Judge Scrutinizes Expert Testimony In Alabama Election Bias Case

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - An Alabama federal judge on Feb. 5 partly excluded testimony from two experts for plaintiffs alleging that the state's method of electing appellate judges discriminates against black people, making sure that the experts do not offer legal analysis, which is the court's job (Alabama State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, et al. v. Alabama, et al., No. 2:16-cv-731, M.D. Ala., 2020 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 18912).
