Chris Chan is a
member of Sutherland's Intellectual Property Practice Group, where he counsels
clients in all aspects of patent and intellectual property law including
international and domestic portfolio management and strategy, patent
procurement, opinions and clearance studies, due diligence, licensing and
related litigation. Chris has experience in obtaining and enforcing patents and
other IP rights in technologies such as financial transaction systems,
computers and software, logistical systems, telecommunications, textiles and
performance materials, filtration systems, power generation and controls,
electro-mechanical devices and medical devices.
Prior to attending law school, he was an engineer with
Babcock & Wilcox, where he resolved customer issues relating to heat
transfer, structures and materials in various power generation products.
