Jennifer Chacón is the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Law, University of California-Irvine. She frequently writes and speaks on the nexus of immigration law and criminal law. She previously was a Professor of Law at the University of California-Davis, King Hall School of Law, where she taught Immigration Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal Law. A graduate of Yale Law School and Stanford University, she clerked for Circuit Judge Sidney R. Thomas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell. She was an outside advisor for the Immigration Transition Team of President-Elect Barack Obama, and the Convenor of the Immigration Policy Advisory Committee for his presidential campaign.
