Susan C. Hughes was born in Newark, New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ (B.A., 1977) and her law degree from Seton Hall Law School in Newark, NJ (J.D., 1980). She was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1981.
Ms. Hughes has been a Lexis Federal Tax Analyst for the past five years. Before joining LexisNexis, she was a legal editor in federal and state & local tax for Prentice-Hall, Warren Gorham and Lamont, and Research Institute of America (RIA) for 22 years. Previous experience includes a clerkship in criminal court in Hudson County, NJ, and work for Essex Newark Legal Services in the areas of domestic relations and landlord/tenant law.
Ms. Hughes currently edits and updates the Lexis Tax Advisor-Federal Code Reporter, Lexis Tax Advisor -Federal Topical, the Matthew Bender treatises Bender's State and Local Tax and Harrison on Wills & Administration for Virginia and West Virginia, multistate charts, and State and Local practice insights.
Ms. Hughes is a resident of Harrison, New Jersey. She is active in church and community organizations.
