Over 60 speakers and 500 attendees will converge in January 2014 to address cutting-edge tax issues affecting corporations, privately held companies, partnerships and real estate, individuals, tax ethics, enforcement and compliance, and estate planning. This three-day institute features popular morning updates on current developments, afternoon breakouts sessions, intimate evening workshops and two networking receptions. CE units for lawyers, accountants and financial planners, and legal specialization credit in Taxation Law and Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, are available.

The 2014 Tax Institute - Three Days of Tax Tips

  • Monday - Business Tax Planning
    Monday's sessions will focus on corporate and business tax planning issues, with separate programming tracks on tax planning for large corporations and for privately held businesses. Popular returning speaker Mark Silverman will kick off the day with his annual review of recent developments in corporate tax planning.  Professor Steven Bank, Director of the Lowell Milken Institute for Business Law and Policy at UCLA School of Law, will provide the keynote luncheon address. The day will include a hosted networking reception and intimate evening workshops.
  • Tuesday - Partnerships, Individual, and Ethics
    Tuesday will feature three concurrent tracks of programming, focusing on partnerships and real estate, individual tax planning, and tax ethics, compliance and enforcement issues. Long-time opening speaker Blake Rubin returns with an update on partnership and real estate tax law. Lawrence Gibbs, Former IRS Commissioner and Former (Acting) IRS Chief Counsel, will give Tuesday's keynote luncheon presentation. The day will end with a hosted networking reception and evening workshops.
  • Wednesday - Estate Planning
    Wednesday will be dedicated to estate planning issues. Jeffrey Pennell, the Richard H. Clark Professor of Law at Emory University's School of Law, will again provide his trademark morning update. Edward McCaffery, Robert C. Packard Trustee Chair in Law and Professor of Law, Economics and Political Science, will provide the keynote luncheon presentation. There will again be additional intimate evenings workshop on Wednesday, following a hosted networking reception.
