Domingo Such, a partner in Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP, has been elected a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). ACTEC is a national professional organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of trust and estate law. ACTEC’s mission is to improve and reform probate, trust and tax laws, procedures and professional responsibility. Prospective members (Fellows) are nominated by members in their geographic area and are evaluated on the basis of professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities. As a member of the Private Client Department and the Executive Compensation Group at the Firm, Mr. Such concentrates his practice in financial, estate and tax planning matters as they relate to ownership in various forms. This provides him with particularly broad legal perspectives in counseling family-owned and/or privately-held businesses and family members. His abilities to serve such clients are further complemented and enhanced by his practical business experience and graduate business degree. Mr. Such’s experience includes transfer tax, income tax, business planning, executive compensation planning for private and public companies, charitable and probate administration, and corporate transactions, including structuring, negotiating and documenting corporate formation, corporate governance, due diligence, mergers, acquisitions and securities issuance. He has worked on corporate transactions for some of the Firm’s largest publicly owned clients as well as closely-held emerging enterprises. He has also successfully represented taxpayers on contested tax matters through audits, administrative appeals and litigation in the U.S. Tax Court and U.S. District Court. In January 2007, Worth magazine selected Mr. Such as one of the nation’s top 100 estate planning attorneys in the United States. He has earned his Certificate in Family Business Advising and has been elected to the Leading Lawyers Network of Illinois by Law Bulletin Publishing Company as well as selected as one of Illinois’ Super Lawyers by Law & Politics. Mr. Such was also selected for the 2008 62nd Edition of Who’s Who in America.
