Michigan Senate Passes Bill on Unitary Business Groups

The Michigan Senate has approved a measure (SB 367) to allow a taxpayer that is part of an affiliated group to elect to have all members of the group treated as a unitary business group without the consent of the Department of Treasury.
 
According to the Senate floor summary of the measure, any member included in the affiliated group would be considered to have waived any objection to its inclusion in the unitary business group.
