The Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of California has selected Southern California's workers' compensation specialist Adam Dombchik as its 2011 Applicant's Attorney of the Year. The award was presented at the State Bar's Annual Meeting in Long Beach on Friday, Sept. 16.
Dombchik currently serves on the Board of Directors for the California Applicants' Attorney Association (CAAA), and is a past president of the group. Dombchik was selected to receive the award due to his exceptional knowledge of the law, professional courtesy, community service, professionalism, recent contributions to the practice of workers' compensation, service to his clients, and his advocacy skills.
Adam graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication with honors from The Pennsylvania State University and then Southwestern University School of Law in Southern California. He was admitted to practice law in California in 1998 and Florida in 1999. Adam was named a partner in 2005 at Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton and Goldstein in Los Angeles. He started working for the firm while attending night school at Southwestern University School of Law. Adam joined as a full-time lawyer after graduation. He received the Exceptional Achievement Award in Workers' Compensation Law & Practice from his alma mater.
Adam is certified by the State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as a specialist in Workers' Compensation Law.
Adam has been a member of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association's executive board for the past four years. He regularly speaks on workers' compensation issues to large groups of doctors, lawyers, and others in the community.
The editors of Workers' Comp Executive have named Adam one of the Most Influential People in the Workers' Compensation Industry. He often writes educational and informational articles for a variety of publications, and has been published in CAAAments, the official publication of CAAA, and Law Enforcement News, the official publication of the Peace Officers Research Association of California, to name a few.
