This course provided a practical approach on how to identify Silent PPOs and its effect on the market place for California providers of medical care. The course included an analysis of recent California Workers' Compensation Appeals Board panel decisions.
The course attempted to provide a convincing argument to the court and/or claims adjuster with respect to the lien claimant's right to payment, including the use of Labor Code Section 4609 in conjunction with Senate Bill 559.
David Bryan Leonard, Esq. practices with David Bryan Leonard, A Law Corporation in Los Angeles. He represents medical providers in the area of workers' compensation. He has written numerous articles, appeared before the California Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court, and lectured extensively on legal issues affecting medical providers and injured workers. He obtained his undergraduate and Masters degree from Loyola Marymount University and his law degree from Loyola Law School. He is a member of the California Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, California Society of Industrial Medicine and Surgery, California Applicants' Attorney's Association, and Cowboy Lawyers' Association.
Reid Steinfeld, Esq. has been in practice since 1979. He is currently employed as in-house counsel for Grant & Weber, a receivables and resource management firm in Calabasas, California. He has written several articles about the topic of Silent PPOs. He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the State Bar of California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern, Northern, Central, and Southern United States District Courts of California, and is a member of Who's Who in American Law.
