The Social Security Administration (SSA) will be changing their method for assigning social security numbers (SSNs) to a randomized approach effective June 25th, 2011. Under the current approach, SSNs are methodically assigned according to a specific format based on published ranges indicative of the state in which the SSN was issued and the issuance date of the SSN, commonly referred to as the block group. The SSA is developing the new randomized method to help protect the integrity of the SSN and extend the longevity of the nine-digit SSN nationwide.
LexisNexis is working diligently to implement product modifications associated with this change prior to June 25th, 2011. Now more than ever, customers will benefit from the robust risk management services provided by LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Our extensive data coverage and proprietary linking technology that leverages information from a broad range of sources positions LexisNexis to help you make smarter business decisions.
