November 14, 2011 (1 min read)

"Former students of Pleasanton, Calif.-based Tri Valley University were duped in an elaborate visa scam, acknowledged the U.S. State Department at its Oct. 26 daily briefing in Washington, D.C.  'We had a pretty horrible visa scam, where a fake university petitioned and got visas for a bunch of students to come over and then actually turned out not to be a real educational institution,' said State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland." - Indiawest, Nov. 9, 2011.
