Early Data Analyzer 1.6 incorporates “near dupe” analysis and email threading

June 4, 2014 — NEW YORK – LexisNexis® Legal & Professional (www.lexisnexis.com), a leading global provider of content and technology solutions, today announced the release of a new version of LexisNexis® Early Data Analyzer software that enables litigation customers to drive down electronic discovery costs by using new, state-of-the-art "near-duplicate" document analysis and email threading capabilities.

Near-duplicate analysis flags nearly identical documents and emails, such as multiple versions of a Microsoft Word document that have been slightly edited over time, or a chain of email messages that are almost entirely redundant.

“We acquired 'near-dupe' technology last year and have already integrated it into our Concordance Evolution and LAW PreDiscovery litigation software products,” said Ted Best, vice president of litigation data management at LexisNexis. “By integrating this technology into LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer, customers can further reduce the time and expense of e-discovery by identifying and eliminating duplicate documents very early on in the e-discovery process.”

LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer decreases the number of files that clients need to electronically process by filtering out as much as 85 percent of non-relevant data. The software filters, indexes and searches data at its source location so that users can determine the nature and amount of relevant data in a lawsuit, rather than processing an entire data set with many duplicate and extraneous files. By not copying the data to a separate location, firms can avoid costly storage fees and data migration time.

“The new version of LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer also integrates LexisNexis software with 'email threading' functionality,” said Best. “This technology identifies groups and provides a review order of emails and attachments – and their entire threads – to let users review email threads without having to examine each email separately.”

LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer is available as a standalone product and as a fully integrated module within LAW PreDiscovery™, an advanced imaging and e-discovery software application, which enables users to scan paper and import electronic files with one, easy-to-use solution.

LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer and LAW PreDiscovery are most effective when used in conjunction with each other to reduce the cost of assessing, managing and processing discovery data. To experience both tools together, visit www.lexisnexis.com/litigation-lawprediscovery or call 800.722.3288.
