2023 AALL Giveaway and Drawing Rules and Regulations

Open only to members of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) who are registered to and attend the 2023 AALL Conference July 16 through July 18, 2023, and who are least 18 years of age or older as of July 16, 2023. Void where prohibited by law. Employees of LexisNexis, a division of RELX Inc. and their parents and its and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers (collectively, “Sponsor”) and the immediate family members (i.e., spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren) and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor.

TO ENTER: Beginning 10:15 a.m. MDT July 16, 2023, through 12:00 p.m. MDT July 18, 2023 (“Term”).

By attending and completing any three different LexisNexis® solutions demonstrations or theater sessions in the LexisNexis booth #704 at the 2023 AALL Conference Exhibit Hall, located at the Boston Convention Center during the Term, and subject to your compliance with the following requirements, you will receive one promotional item daily and be entered to win a premium multi-purpose cooler or Airline Travel Voucher. At end of each LexisNexis solutions demonstration your badge will be scanned. When you have received three or more badge scans in one day, pick up your item from the LexisNexis registration desk in booth #704. In addition, you can receive one additional entry by attending any LexisNexis hosted sessions described below. Your badge will be scanned upon entry into the session.

Two drawings will be held at the conclusion of the conference. Approximate retail value for premium multi-purpose cooler or Airline Travel Voucher: $375.00.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Term. If potential winner does not respond to initial notification within 3 business days after initial attempted contact, prize will be forfeited, and Sponsor will select an alternate winner. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. The list of winners will be available on the LexisNexis® InfoPro Community website after July 25, 2023.

No mechanically reproduced entries of any kind permitted. Illegible and incomplete entries are void. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, postage due, misdirected entries or entries not received.

Prizes are awarded “AS IS.” Sponsor makes no offer of any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied (including, without limitation, quality, merchantability, and fitness for a purpose) in connection with this Sweepstakes or any prize. Prize details and availability are subject to change, in which case a prize of equal value may be substituted at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. No substitution or transfer/assignment of prize by winners permitted.

All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The potential winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form postmarked within 10 days of the date on notification materials. Noncompliance within this time period may result in disqualification, and an alternate potential winner(s) may be selected. The winners may be required to produce picture or some other form of proper identification to claim any prize. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize with prize of equal or greater value.

Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor to use winner’s name, voice, statements, image, and likeness for purposes of advertising and trade, in any medium, without further compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law. Submission of contact information in connection with this Sweepstakes (whether or not required), including mailing address, phone number, and email address during entry constitutes permission for Sponsor to add entrant to Sponsor’s customer database and to contact entrant in the future for promotional reasons. You may opt out of receiving such communications as provided within any such marketing materials (e.g., using the “Unsubscribe” feature provided in the footer of Sponsor’s emails).

TERMS:  Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering, or the announcement of any prize or in the administration of the promotion, whether caused by computer, technical or human error. Winners assume all liability and agree to hold Sponsor harmless for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, faulty, or incorrect transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the sweepstakes whether caused by computer, technical or human error. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the program for any reason, including but not limited to, if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the promotion; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the promotion as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify, freeze or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules. By entering this Promotion, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Promotion or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the State of Ohio. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants’ rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Ohio, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Ohio or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Ohio.
