Happy National Library Week! Take a Quick Brain Break to Find Your Joy

We are so grateful for our librarians and the work you do to support your organizations. They would be lost without you! Take a minute to engage with our just-for-fun puzzles below and celebrate National Library Week with us!

Here’s how our KRC team is finding joy at the moment:

Joyce Magruder: This spring, I’ve been finding joy in simple moments and shared experiences—walking my dogs under the cherry blossom trees as petals drift down like pink snow, and volunteering with my library’s English language conversation group. National Library Week feels like the perfect time to appreciate all the ways our communities bring people together.

Jocelyn Sagherian: It’s warm and there’s tulips!

Loyd Auerbach: There’s not one specific thing that gives me joy. I find joy and lots of laughter when we get together with our core group of friends (our chosen “family”) for game nights. I find joy with our cats, Jake & Elwood (though they can be annoying at times). And I find joy in sharing really great craft chocolate with others (and eating it, of course).

Bridget MacMillan: I recently learned how to play Mahjong, and I am hooked! I play a few times a week, and each time I learn a new strategy or approach. It keeps me sharp! And it is calming for me to look at and hold the beautiful tiles.

This is the winning Mahjong line from my last game!

Nikki DiNatale: My family is the source of a lot of joy…and gray hair but hey, it’s all good!

Lindsey Watson: This spring feels like a deep exhale. I’m finding joy in the longer days, the warmer weather, and that familiar sense of momentum that comes with the end of the school year here in the South. There’s something special about this season—everything feels a little lighter, a little more possible.

In the spirit of National Library Week, I’m especially grateful for the mini escapes that fiction and books offer during these longer days. Those quiet moments to step into another world, even just for a few pages, feel like a reset.

Our family is also preparing for a summer trip, and I’m looking forward to the chance to truly disconnect for a bit. To step away from the noise, be present with the people I love, and soak in new places and perspectives.
