Librarian Relations Consultant Research Tip: How to use date commands in your search query

If you used date commands from® as part of your search, you will be pleased to know you can do the same on the Lexis Advance service.

For example, to search for articles about Netflix® and Hulu® after January 1, 2018, enter Netflix and Hulu and date aft 1/1/2018.

You can also use date is or date bef, to set a date limit.

This is in addition to using the Timeline filter and using operators combined with the month/day/year. (As a reminder, the operators include “=,” “>,” “<,” “<=” and “>=”; and the date should be in numerical format.) For example, to limit to articles published after 2017, add this to your search: >12/31/2017.

We’ve got you covered no matter how you prefer to set a date limit when searching on the Lexis Advance service.
