Librarian Relations Consultant Research Tip: Quickly refine search results by publisher
It’s easy to refine a search result on the Lexis Advance® service to a specific publisher of interest. After conducting a search, note that Publisher is a filter on the left at the bottom of the Filters pane. The screenshot below is an example from a search in News content on Lexis Advance: headline (boeing) and (recall or ground!) and length > 1000. The Publisher filter is open, and you’ll see a list of publishers by name in the results.
If you use Filters often, you’ll notice two traits that are different with the Publisher filter.
- The list of publishers is in alphabetical order, not results order. I really appreciate this feature because I can quickly scan an alphabetical listing for the publisher I want, for example, Atlantic Media, Inc., instead of having to carefully read the list to find this publisher if it was in results order.
- The list of publishers is not limited to the top 20 or first 20; it reflects ALL publishers in the results. For my workflow, this is very helpful and saves me a lot of time.
Utilize this filter to pinpoint your trusted and favorite publishers easily!
