Unlocking the Power of the Vault in Protégé™
One of the most powerful tools in the Protégé is the Vault. The Vault is an incredibly useful feature for summarizing and analyzing documents, comparing information across files, and even pulling out key data points.
What Is the Vault?
The Vault allows you to securely organize and analyze large collections of documents within Protégé.
Vault capabilities include:
- Create up to 50 Vaults
- Store up to 500 documents per Vault
- Upload files as large as 100 MB each
- Organize materials with Sub-vaults for large or complex projects
Whether you are reviewing contracts, pulling insights from research materials, or comparing multiple documents, the Vault provides a centralized workspace for document analysis.
Creating Vaults
The Vault can be used to store and analyze nearly any type of document.
Creating a Vault is simple:
- Open the Vault feature within Protégé
- Select Create Vault
- Name your Vault and organize documents as needed
- Upload the files you want to analyze
You can also create Sub-vaults to better organize large groups of documents by project, topic, client, or workflow.
Analyzing Documents
To analyze documents, simply click the plus (+) button and select the files you want to review.

For example, imagine you want to compare contracts over several years.
A useful prompt might be: Compare and contrast the changes in these contracts, calculate the annual cost percentage increase and contract value increase, and present the changes in table format.
This output delivers a comprehensive overview that helps users efficiently assess changes between contracts and identify important business or operational impacts.
The Vault is not just a summarization tool.
It can also help you:
- Compare documents
- Extract key information
- Organize large document collections
- Identify trends and patterns across files
- Streamline operational and research workflows
Vault Applications for Legal Research
In addition to operational workflows, the Vault is also highly valuable for legal research projects.
Researchers can use the Vault to organize case materials, compare legal documents, analyze litigation trends, summarize lengthy filings, and quickly identify relevant information across multiple sources.
