Several states—including Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia—offer medical marijuana-related employment protections. Prior to 2020, no state or municipality endowed employees with recreational marijuana–related protections.
