Three auto insurance bills cleared the Louisiana House Committee on Civil Law and Procedure last month. One of them (HB 436) would prohibit “unauthorized aliens” from receiving general damages, including compensation for pain and suffering, in auto accident cases, although they could still receive “special damages,” including medical expenses and property damage.
