MT Targets Insurers’ Use of AI

Montana’s House Committee on Business and Labor held a public hearing last week on a bill (HB 556) that would regulate the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare utilization review and management. Among other things, the measure would require insurers to make their AI software available for review by regulators. BlueCross BlueShield Montana strongly opposed the measure, maintaining it does not deny coverage based solely on AI. (DAILY MONTANAN, LEXISNEXIS STATE NET)
