NH Bill Aimed at Banning Political Discrimination in Workplace

New Hampshire Rep. Terry Roy (R) has introduced a bill (HB 1464) that would prohibit employers from refusing to hire, barring from employment, firing or discriminating against a person because of “that person’s political affiliation or opinion.” The measure would also criminalize harassing, annoying or alarming another person based on their political affiliation or opinion, which it described as behaving in a way that “would cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress or fear for their safety, employment, or economic well-being.” (NEW HAMPSHIRE BULLETIN, LEXISNEXIS STATE NET)
