California Attorney General Rob Bonta (D) said he’s planning to sponsor legislation next year to require social media platforms to have warning labels indicating they can be harmful to the mental health of adolescents. U.S. Attorney General Vivek Murthy called for Congress to take that same action in June. Bonta also said it was too early to say whether similar disclosures should be required for artificial intelligence programs. (SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE)
