"On his first day in office, President Joe Biden set in motion what could represent the most active first 100 days on immigration by any White House in recent history, including that of predecessor Donald Trump, whose presidency was singularly focused on reshaping the U.S. immigration system. Via executive orders and the unveiling of a framework for an ambitious legalization of the nation’s estimated 11 million unauthorized immigrants, Biden set a sharp departure from the Trump administration’s tone and policies.
