"Two Michigan lawmakers are reintroducing legislation to give long-awaited residency status to a southwestern Michigan immigrant. U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit, and U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph, put forth bills in the Senate and House Monday that would give permanent U.S. residency to Ibrahim Parlak, a Kurdish immigrant living in Harbert in Berrien County."
