Now, let’s take a deeper look at the commercial cases.
These cases are incredibly valuable to litigators. Our analytics allow you to look into what is going on in business disputes, who’s winning, who’s losing, and what kind of claim(s) they are bringing.
Again, we can see what is happening in these types of cases in our case resolution analytics.
As you can see, most of these types of cases settle. The claimant wins 6% of the time and predominantly at default judgment. So, this may be a cautionary tale. If you want to continue litigating the case past the default judgment stage, then there may be a lot of pitfalls. These potential pitfalls can be seen by reviewing our findings analytics for these types of cases.
For example, at the summary judgment stage, Contract Breach is found in 4,000 cases. However, No Contract Breach is found in 3,000 cases. So, in some ways, it is a crapshoot. You can also find out what happens in these types of cases when Conversion or Unjust Enrichment is alleged. The information is incredibly useful!
Additionally, if you are a litigator and you have a case in front of a particular judge, then you can apply any of our judges filters. For example, if I selected District Judge Stephen Joseph Murphy III and only focused on his terminated cases, then I can see there have been 169 terminated contract cases in front of him and uncover what kind of rulings he has made.
I can also see how his prior cases were resolved. Most of his cases settled or procedurally resolved. Additionally, I can see the claimant won in 29 cases, but 15 of those cases were at default judgment.
More so, you can uncover how long the case is going to take, how much money you are likely to spend, what is the likelihood that you are going to prevail, what kind of damages are in these cases, etc…
You can also check out whether your opponent has been before this judge by accessing our Attorneys Report.
