Nominate Your Favorite Blogs for Top Business Blog Honors

Each year, LexisNexis honors a select group of blogs that set the online standard for a given industry. This year, we've expanded Top Blogs to our Business Law Communities. We've been fortunate to host the content of a number of distinguished legal professionals who have shared their insights and expertise with our Community, and through the process of seeking what we consider to be "top blogs," we have discovered many more.

The Top Blogs campaign on the LexisNexis Corporate & Securities Law Community and the LexisNexis UCC, Commercial Contracts & Business Law Community will move ahead in several phases. We'll start by taking nominations during a comment period that starts today and ends on October 8.  We've gathered a list of initial nominees, which are listed below, and we welcome our Community members to make additional nominations and support their favorite blogs. We'll select the top 25 based on our review of the sites and comments from our Community members. After we announce the Top 25 Business Law Blog honorees, we'll ask our Community to vote for Top Business Law Blog of the Year.

To "talk up" or nominate your favorite Business Law Blog, you'll need to be a registered Community member and be logged in. If you haven't previously registered, follow this link. Registration is free and does not result in sales contacts. Once you are logged in, scroll all the way to the very bottom of this page. You should see a comment box.  ***Don’t forget to click on the verification link in the email that will be sent to your registration address ~ you won’t see the comment box without performing that step! ***

Add a comment to vote or nominate your favorite blog, and that's it! If you are having problems with the registration or voting process, please contact us at lisa.mcmanus@lexisnexis.com.  I'm the Communities Manager, and I want to make sure that everyone gets to vote!

We'd also appreciate your help with spreading the news about our top blogs campaign. Please tell your colleagues and your online groups and networks that our Business Law Communities are seeking nominations for the Top 25 Business Law Blogs so they can participate in our recognition event. After all, it's only thru input from different segments of the industry that we can continue to maintain the value and quality that our Community relies upon when it searches our Top Blogs for insight and information.

I would like to voice support for The FCPA Professor as one of the top blogs. Professor Mike Koehler edits and writes the blog and offers daily insights into a rapidly changing and complex area of law.  He has experience in the practice, having worked in FCPA matters for a large law firm prior to his joining Butler University's Business School.  The information, opinions and analysis offered on this website are outstanding, and it is a daily read for me and many others out there interested in this area.  I give my strongest recommendation possible to The FCPA Professor.

Mike Koehler's FCPA Professor Blog bring him and Butler's College of Business daily press coverage and exposure, while educating his students and his blog readers about real time FCPA issues.  Blogging, when done well and one often - and the FCPA Professor blog is exemplary - is a new, complementary scholarly contribution, in addition to teaching and research.

Professor Koehler’s blog provides an analysis of the field of anti-corruption from the point of view of academic who has real-world experience.  His comments are  well reasoned and thought provoking. From his vantage point he can, and does, point out the strengths and weaknesses, policies and inconsistencies of current legislation and those who enforce it.  I applaud his efforts and recommend the FCPA Professor as daily reading to those interested in the fight against corruption.

This is a fantastic site which provides the best analysis of Indian law developments. The research is thorough and the analysis is of a very high standard. The blogs provide an almost immediate analysis on relevant new developments. For Indian qualified lawyers like myself,  working outside India, this site is an extremely useful reference point.

The research is excellent; and it is a must-visit site for anyone who has any question on Indian commercial law (and on a lot of issues of interest to the broader common law world too)

I'm tossing in my vote for Thomas Fox's FCPA Compliance and Ethics Blog. Tom keeps up with developments on an hour by hour basis. His commentary is well-written, informative and insightful. The global economy affects businesses of all sizes now, making digestion and dissemination of current events by informed commentators like Tom essential.

I vote for the "FCPA Professor" as well.  There are several good blogs out there that focus on the FCPA, but the Professor comes at the subject in a way that is always insightful and often provocative.  It's a great read for anyone interested in corruption issues, expert or novice.

I am honored to be mentioned among the elite blogs on corporate governance. In the first year of writing the Governance Center Blog for The Conference Board, I have found many good resources online. My top 5 would have to be:

TheCorporateCounsel.net

CorpGov.net

Marks on Governance by Norman Marks

BoardMember's two blogs

blogs.law.harvard.edu/corpgov (Harvard's blog)

I cast a strong vote for thecorporatecounsel.net Blog. Broc Romanek covers the waterfront on corporate and securities law, and yet he makes the blog very accessible and entertaining. Dave Lynn, another contributor, is one of the top experts in the country.

As a former VC, now active cleantech banker, the investment fund law blog provides me up-to-date relevant information on China fund formation.  I met with Attorney Judy Deng and the Pillsbury team prior to visiting Shanghai and she in particular provided me advice that was critical to funding – Today I read the Investment Fund Law Blog religiously!
