"Border Patrol agents detained roughly 1,000 people Wednesday morning at the McAllen Station, severely overcrowding the modest building on Military Highway. Without anywhere else to keep them, agents temporarily detained many immigrants who entered the United States illegally inside the McAllen Station’s “sally port” — basically a gated garage.
