They're Paddling to America, Today

"Using a shovel for an oar, a BC man paddled a stolen canoe across the Niagara River from Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, to Youngstown, NY, early Thursday, a US border official said.  "He had a desire to go to New York City," said Border Patrol spokesman Michael Scioli.  Scioli said he stole the canoe from a residence in Niagara-on-the-Lake and ventured across the lake before border guards spotted him at about 2 a.m. trying to exit Fort Niagara State Park.  The man was arrested and charged with illegal entry into the U.S." - QMI, Jan. 20, 2013.
