Racial Discrimination Class Certified In Part Against Home Mortgage Lender
LOS ANGELES — A class action lawsuit accusing a home mortgage lender of discriminating against minorities on the basis of race was certified Aug. 27 by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge (Opal Jones, et al. v. Wells Fargo Bank N.A., et al., No. BC337821, Calif. Super., Los Angeles Co.).
Wage-And-Hour Class Against Shoe Retailer Granted Certification
PHILADELPHIA — A class action accusing an athletic shoe retail chain of violating federal employment law by failing to properly compensate workers for overtime hours worked was conditionally certified by a federal judge on Sept. 15 (Francisco Pereira v. Foot Locker Inc., No. 07-cv-2157, E.D. Pa.; 2009 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 84022).
