BP Oil Spill Litigation Law Firm Wesley J. Farrell Becomes Farrell & Patel

MIAMI - The Law Firm of Wesley J. Farrell has announced that Ricky K. Patel has been named partner, and the firm will now be known as Farrell & Patel Attorneys at Law.

The firm currently represents 600 hotels and other Gulf Coast businesses negatively impacted by the BP oil spill of 2010 and concentrates its practice in the areas of commercial, civil, criminal and franchise litigation. The firm also represents hotel owners and operators in a $240 million class action lawsuit against Choice Hotels International and a $260 million class action lawsuit against Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Patel concentrates his practice in matters of franchise law, immigration and international commerce. An active member of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), he advises minority hotel owners in the Gulf region about their options for recouping losses following the 2010 BP oil spill through claims with the Gulf Coast Claims Facility.

Patel was appointed as the youngest member of President Barack Obama's National Finance Committee and an ambassador for President Clinton's Global Initiative. He also serves as a board member on the St. Thomas University School of Law Board of Trustees. Patel holds a B.A./B.S. from Florida State University and a J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law.
