In-House Litigation Director Rudy Perrino Joins Fulbright

LOS ANGELES — Rudy Perrino, a litigator with experience handling bet-the-company cases, especially those involving cross-border and international mass tort claims, has joined Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. as a partner.

Perrino joins Fulbright’s Los Angeles office from Dole Food Company Inc., where he previously served as the company’s director of litigation. He joined Dole in 2004 after seven years in private practice handling toxic tort, environmental and commercial litigation.

While at Dole, Perrino managed litigation around the world, including a number of prominent cases, filed in the United States and abroad, involving claims brought by thousands of workers from Central and South America, the Caribbean, the Philippines and Africa. The workers claimed to have been injured by the pesticide DBCP used in the 1970s. Perrino’s active, hands-on management of the litigation was critical to Dole’s numerous successes in these lawsuits.

Before joining Dole, Perrino was in private practice, where he successfully defended numerous cases involving claims of toxic exposure and environmental contamination. He represented a number of business interests, including chemical, petroleum and product manufacturers, distributors, commercial lending institutions and public entities, both at the regulatory level and in litigation. Perrino received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Riverside. He is licensed to practice law in California and currently serves as co-chair of the Mass Tort Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation.
